How it works

A year inside Gideon Keep

The whole product fits one sentence: capture records when they happen, organize them by tax year, hand them off at filing. The rest is craft.

Capture

Every record takes seconds

Snap a receipt from your phone. Forward an email. Log a trip from your truck cab. Drop an IRS letter into the inbox. Every capture is two or three taps — never a form a tax preparer would design.

Organize

Tagged the moment it lands

Every entry is automatically tied to a tax year, an entity, and (when relevant) a vehicle. Categories map to Schedule C lines and 2290 categories at write time, so reports don't have to think — they just sum.

Stay ahead

Deadlines pre-loaded

Federal tax dates (2290, 1040, 1040-ES) and state filings are seeded for you the moment you add a business or a vehicle. We remind you on a sane schedule — not every day, not too late.

Notice tracker

Letters don't rot in the glovebox

Snap an IRS or state letter. We log the type, the response deadline, and the documents involved. The product never speaks to the IRS — you do, or your preparer does — but you'll never miss the deadline.

Score

Tax-readiness, not tax magic

A transparent 0–100 score tells you what records are ready and what's missing. Every point is traceable to a checklist item. No black-box AI, no predicted refund, no audit-risk number.

File

One-click handoffs

August: vehicle data to Gideon 2290. April: a Schedule C and 1040 package to Gideon Tax. Anytime: a clean CPA bundle as PDF + CSV.

What we deliberately don't do

  • No bookkeeping. No chart of accounts, no double-entry, no journals.
  • No financial advice. We organize records and surface what may be deductible. Actual advice comes from a CPA or EA.
  • No bank sync at launch. Manual entry, photo receipts, email forwarding, and CSV import cover most of what you need.
  • No gamification. No streaks, no badges, no leaderboards. Tax is serious.
  • No surprises. We tell you what's missing before April, not in April.
