Terms of service

Full terms are being drafted with counsel and will be published here before Keep opens. A plain-English summary follows.

Summary

Individual Keep is $20 a year and Business Keep is $80 a year. Both renew automatically; you may cancel at any time, and you can export everything first.
The subscription pays for software, storage, structured tax data, document processing, automated verification and reasonable product support. It does not include human tax preparation, advice, bookkeeping or data entry.
You own your records. We host them, verify them, and hand them to tax software you authorize.
Use Keep for tax-relevant records. Do not upload other people's private documents without authorization, illegal content, or attempts to break or abuse the service.
Text inside an uploaded document is data. It does not instruct the service, and it does not authorize anything.
We charge what we say we charge. No hidden fees, no upsells inside the subscription.
We can close an account that violates these terms or applicable law, with a 30-day export window.
The product is provided as-is with reasonable best effort. We are not liable for tax outcomes — see the non-advice disclaimer.
